But the city rewards those New Yorkers who stay with lots of live music in the city parks. Tomorrow, June 5, is the opening night of the annual BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn Festival at Prospect Park’s bandshell, and the opening act is rapper, actor, and activist Common. Maybe he’ll dip into his old songbook and do a song like this, called “The People.” Maybe he'll have special guests from his new super-group, August Greene. Perhaps he'll perform his Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning Best Original Song, "Glory."
Common is the opening night headliner at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn, Tuesday night, June 5, in Prospect Park, which is free. But there’s also an opening night gala – that’s not so free.
